Starr Aviation is pleased to offer Light Aircraft Accident forgiveness for our policyholders who operate piston powered aircraft for their own personal, pleasure and business use (non-commercial.) To participate in our Accident Forgiveness program you must complete one of the following preceding any covered loss.
Approved Air Safety Foundation approved courses (online at www.aopa.org) within the last 6 months, or completion of any of the following courses in the last 12 months:
Starr Aviation will waive the deductible for physical damage losses or non-owned physical damage losses (up to $500) provided the pilot involved in the accident or occurrence has completed an approved training event by a recognized provider as outlined above.
Evidence of completion must be sent within 30 days of the date of loss. Please see the Aviation section on our Claims page for the address and other conntact information.
Claims Experience Rating – Because of your commitment to recurrent training we have eliminated any claims experience rating from your premium calculation.
Exclusions
Accident Forgiveness does not apply if you have had more than one at-fault accident in the 36 months prior to its inception. It also does not apply to accidents Involving fuel exhaustion or starvation, or in which the pilot was using drugs or alcohol, knowingly flying with an expired medical certificate or without a current flight review; or operating the aircraft carelessly or recklessly.
